The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) has launched its Follow Grenada campaign, an innovative marketing strategy targeting students of the St. George’s University (SGU), their families and friends. The campaign aims to increase visitor arrivals by encouraging over six thousand tertiary level students to experience and share the islands’ tourism product.
There is a competition component of the campaign that incentivizes the student to capture photo or video moments of their adventures in Grenada and share them on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the hashtag #FollowGrenada. One lucky student and three friends will win a weekend getaway to Carriacou with accommodation, transport, and an excursion within the Grenadines compliments of the Grenada Tourism Authority.
“The Follow Grenada campaign allows Grenada to leverage on the presence of the university and the enormous potential it offers in attracting prospective visitors. We at the GTA are dedicated to finding creative and cost effective solutions in marketing and promotions, especially in a time where every dollar spent is crucial,” said Mr. Orlando Romain, E-business Manager.
Associate Dean of Enrolment Planning Mr. Colin Dowe stated, “Partnering with the GTA not only demonstrates the University’s commitment to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility but also provides a wonderful opportunity for prospective students and their families to learn about the fantastic environment which serves as the home of our world renowned institution. We are very aware that our environment impacts our productivity and this Follow Grenada Campaign promotes the conducive ambience that compliments the first class education at St. George’s.”
The Grenada Tourism Authority’s Follow Grenada campaign will ultimately translate into broader opportunities with SGU that will prove to be of substantial mutual benefit. The adventures of the Follow Grenada Campaign can be viewed at www.puregrenada.com/followgrenada.
