Report from tourism officials states that over 20 million dollars was pumped into the Grenadian economy last year through carnival activities.
Figures indicates that 7,000 visitors entered the State between July and August.
Out of that number over 3,000 visitors came from the United States, 1300 from the United Kingdom and 1400 from neighbouring Trinidad and Tobago.
These figures represented both non-grenadian visitors and returning nationals.
In an exclusive interview with Wee fm news culture minister Brenda Hood calls on organizers to help make this year’s activity as successful as last year’s.
The culture minister says stakeholders must do their part to enhance the carnival product.
